Ruangngoprek.web.id - How to Run Android on a PC Without Bluestacks or Other Emulators - Want to install Android on your PC without an emulator? But confused about how to run Android apps on your PC without Bluestacks or other emulators? It's actually very easy. Here's how to play Android apps on your PC without an emulator.
Nowadays, running Android apps on a PC/laptop is easy. How? Many people probably already know. An Android emulator is the answer.
There are many free Android emulators you can use to run Android on your PC/laptop. These include Bluestacks, NOX, and many more.
Running Android using an emulator on a PC/laptop is certainly challenging for those with modest specifications. Running the software will cause your device to struggle, and opening apps in the Android emulator will be extremely slow.
What causes this? It's because the System Emulator and the PC/Laptop host kernel are different, often resulting in a slow performance due to the need to reboot the Android operating system to emulate it.
Furthermore, the Android emulator doesn't take up much space/memory. Installing this emulator requires several gigabytes of space. This would be difficult if your hard drive was already low, wouldn't it?
So, you've come up with a solution: running Android apps/games on a PC without using an emulator. But how do you run Android on a PC without Bluestacks or another emulator?
We'll be taking advantage of Chrome's features, namely using extensions, plugins, and addons. So, before continuing, make sure your laptop/PC has the Chrome browser installed.
There are two Chrome browser extensions you can use to run Android apps on your PC/laptop. What are they? Here's how.
A. How to play Android apps on PC without emulator with Arc Welder
The first Chrome extension we'll use to run applications on a laptop without an emulator is called Arc Welder. It's only about 12 MB in size.
How to use it:
1. Open the Chrome browser on your PC/Laptop
2. Click the Arc Welder link to go directly to the Arc Welder extension installation page.
Or you can also go to the settings menu (in the top right corner) > More tools > extensions > search for Arc Welder
3. Select Add to Chrome to install.
4. Download the Android application you want to use in APK format first from Google. You can search for it using the keywords "download (application name) apk."
5. Open Arc Welder by going to chrome://apps > select Arc welder > click Choose > select any folder to save the file to the filesystem.
6. Click Add Your APK > select the APK you downloaded earlier.
7. On the Test Your App page, please set it as desired > Finally, click Launch App in the bottom right corner
Note: If there is no Launch App, just click Test > Go to chrome://apps > open the application
The downside to running Android apps on a PC without Bluestacks/an emulator is that it doesn't support all Android apps. To overcome this, try the second method.
B. How to play Android apps on PC without emulator with Archon Runtime
Besides the extensions mentioned above, there's also another Chrome extension called Archon Runtime. It's a bit more complicated to use, though. However, you can try the method for running Android apps on a PC without Bluestacks or an emulator mentioned in point B, as it supports a wider range of apps.
How to run apk files on a PC without an emulator using Archon Runtime:
I. Installing Archon Runtime
Before adding the app, first install this extension to your Chrome.
1. Download the Archon Runtime extension for Chrome from this link according to your OS version > extract the file
Also download Archon Packager (Optional/Not required) to make things easier. ARChon Packager is an easy way to create Chrome ARChon Custom Runtime packages exclusively from your smartphone.
2. Open Chrome > click the settings icon in the top right corner > select More tools > select extensions
Or in the address bar type the command
chrome://extensions > enter
3. Look for the Developer mode menu in the top right corner and check/activate it.
4. Now install the Archon Runtime extension by selecting Load unpacked > Browse to the folder where you extracted Archon Runtime. If an error occurs, don't worry, it's normal.
II. Covering the application
After installing Archon Runtime, you'll need to convert the application. This step is a bit tricky because you'll need to convert the APK to a format that Google Chrome can recognize. To do this, use a script created by Filippov. For more information, please read the following article: https://github.com/vladikoff/chromeos-apk
Installing chromeos-apk is actually quite easy, using npm (the NodeJS runtime). For Windows users, first install NodeJS. For Linux users (e.g., Ubuntu), first install npm.
Installation process:
sudo npm install chromeos-apk -g
Then to change the APK to one that supports Chrome Extensions, use:
chromeos-apk Kaskus_2.14.1.apk
The script above will create a new folder based on the vendor of the converted Android application. For example, for WhatsApp, the folder would be com.whatsapp.android.android.
III. Adding to Chrome
After creating an application that supports Chrome extensions, simply add the folder to Chrome. Here's how:
1. Open Chrome > three dots icon in the top right corner > More tools > extensions
Or you can also just type chrome://extensions in the address bar.
2. Enable Developer mode on the right side > select Load unpacked
3. Find and select the folder that was created earlier, pattern: com.whatsapp.android.android
4. A new extension named after that folder will appear. Click Launch.
You can also type chrome://apps in the address bar.
